Miss the feeling of playing an imaginary guitar? Get ready—a game from the people who once gave the world Guitar Hero is coming soon.
The developers of the original Guitar Hero have announced the release date for their new rhythm game, Stage Tour. The project from RedOctane Games studio will be available on December 10, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
Stage Tour is positioned as the spiritual successor to classic Guitar Hero and Rock Band. The game retains the familiar gameplay featuring five-button guitars, drums, and vocals, but it adds modern modes, including the roguelite touring mode Tour Mode, karaoke, and a system of precise evaluations called Judgements. The game supports up to four players and offers control via both gamepad and keyboard.

At the start, players can expect over 90 licensed compositions spanning six decades. The setlist already confirms tracks from The Rolling Stones, Radiohead, The Cure, Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Paramore, Olivia Rodrigo, Slipknot, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Muse, Extreme, Weezer, BABYMETAL, and many others. The complete list will be revealed gradually.
Special attention has been paid to instruments. Thanks to a partnership with Gibson, the game will feature over 180 authentic guitars from the Gibson, Epiphone, and Kramer brands—the largest collection of real models in the genre’s history. Concurrently, official peripherals are being released: a wireless Kramer guitar, a drum kit, and microphones. Additionally, licensed CRKD controllers in the design of classic Gibson models are in preparation.
