[Description and Manufacturing Stages]
- Prototype Development and Modeling
The initial sample tile is created from sculptural modeling clay. At this stage, the ornament’s composition is determined, and the surface texture and relief depth are refined.2. Mold Making
A foam board frame is assembled around the prototype to hold the plaster mixture during casting. The clay model is securely fixed to the base.3. Plaster Mold Casting
The mold frame, containing the prototype, is filled with plaster. After the plaster hardens, the structure is disassembled, and the resulting mold is removed.4. Matrix Preparation
The clay prototype is carefully removed, leaving the negative imprint of the ornament. The plaster mold is cleaned and dried for the subsequent tile production.5. Tile Forming and Drying
A slurry—a liquid ceramic mass—is poured into the mold. After forming and partial drying, the piece is carefully removed and left to dry completely.6. Bisque Firing
The dried tile is fired in a ceramic kiln. The initial firing grants the piece strength and prepares it for glazing.7. Glazing
The surface of the tile is coated with ceramic glaze. This defines the color and character of the finish, emphasizing the volume and details of the relief ornament.8. Glaze Firing
The tile is fired a second time: the glaze melts and forms a decorative, glassy coating. After cooling, the finished, original ceramic tile is complete.
