The project focuses on creating handmade ceramic tiles with a three-dimensional design. The work begins with sculpting a plasticine model and creating a plaster mold. Next, the tiles are formed from clay, fired, and coated with glaze.

«Catch» — a collection of handmade ceramic tiles inspired by the fairytale image of a fish.

Accomplishments
01.
Model Development
A clay prototype of the tile, featuring a relief fish and stars, has been created. The composition, texture, and relief height have been determined.
02.
Mold Preparation
A formwork structure has been assembled from Styrofoam (expanded polystyrene) for plaster casting and shape creation.
Next Steps
03.
Plaster Mold Fabrication
The prototype will be cast using gypsum slurry. Once it has hardened, the formwork will be removed, and the clay carefully extracted.
04.
Tile Forming
Fill the form with slip. After consolidating the mass, remove the piece and allow it to dry completely.
05.
Bisque Firing
Conduct a bisque firing to give the tile strength and prepare it for glazing.
06.
Glazing
Apply glaze, which will give the tile color and emphasize the relief.
07.
Final Firing
Re-fire the tile to form the glaze coating.
