CONCEPT
The project investigates the relocation of the Hmong people as a means of cultural transformation and preservation. Moving to new areas, the people encounter changes in natural conditions, landscape, and way of life, forcing them to adapt to the new environment and re-evaluate their accustomed modes of interaction with it.
Culture evolves alongside humanity, retaining its recognizable essence amid changing circumstances. And costume is what a person can carry with them when moving—something to preserve, adapt, and pass on to subsequent generations.
