The project explores the world of Jun Takahashi, the philosophy, and the visual techniques of Undercover. Sources of inspiration include Ryoji Ikeda’s audiovisual project «test pattern» and the image of two columns. Through the contrast between precision and individuality, outer surface and inner workings, the image of a dual entity is created—a person connecting two origins.

test pattern — an audiovisual project by Japanese artist and composer Ryoji Ikeda. He translates text, sound, photography, and video into black-and-white barcode images and binary sequences of zeros and onestest pattern [nº1] is the first version of the project, testing the capabilities of technology and human perception. In a dark space, eight monitors and sixteen loudspeakers are lined up on the floor.

The collection explores the human being caught between two forces. The first strives to measure, define, and bring form to precision. The second is connected to memory, touch, desire, fear, and personal error. Inspired by Reiji Ikeda’s «test pattern» project, the collection examines clothing as a space where mechanical precision meets the limit of human perception.
