Design of a wooden medallion inspired by the game «Wings of Freedom, ” created as part of a learning module.„Alator“ is a term designating a gladiator bird that fights in arenas. The medallion is an emblematic representation of such a fighter, and the piece simulates a homemade souvenir that one of the game’s characters might have owned.
Concept
Merchandise that transforms the game’s central motif into an object understandable even without explaining the plot. The bird is associated with freedom, while the gladiator silhouette represents struggle, competition, and the cost of victory. Thus, the design itself reflects the project’s core idea: freedom is not granted easily—it must be fought for. The wooden execution makes the medallion accessible, compact, and distinct from typical souvenir products.

Connection to Play
The game explores complex themes of freedom and life in captivity. The characters are willing to kill each other to leave the arena, yet none of them are entirely sure why they are fighting. The medallion reveals another side of this reality: it mimics a simple, handmade wooden craft that one of the characters could make in his free time. This object complements the game’s theme, compelling the owner to return to the world of brutal gladiatorial races, where the harsh warrior personas conceal complex personalities.
