A series of three award statuettes for the «Golden Apricot» International Film Festival merges the symbology of cinema art with the iconic symbol of the festival. The composition is based on metallic ribbons referencing traditional film strips and a mirrored sphere symbolizing the apricot. The intertwining ribbons convey the continuity of cinematic storytelling, the passage of time, and the evolution of artistic thought. The sphere serves as the compositional center around which the visual narrative unfolds.

The primary material is AISI 304 stainless steel.
For curved strips, steel with an approximate thickness of 1.5–2 mm is used, featuring a directional satin finish. This ensures a silvery color, a subtle light reflection, and sufficient rigidity after proper forming.
The central element is a mirrored metallic sphere.
This hollow stainless steel sphere, approximately 55–60 mm in diameter, features a mirrored polish. The hollow construction reduces the object’s mass and the load on its mountings.
The base is a metallic cylindrical pedestal. It features a satin finish, internal reinforcement, concealed mounting hardware, and protective under-cladding. The center of gravity must ensure the statuette’s stability.

Construction and manufacturing process
Assembly Technology for Metal Structures
- Model Preparation. An accurate CAD model is created for each variant, detailing dimensions, thicknesses, and attachment points.
- Template Fabrication. Individual templates and assembly fixtures are prepared for repeatable spatial bending of the strips.
- Laser Cutting. The blanks are cut from stainless steel sheet metal.
- Shaping. The strips are sequentially bent in space according to the templates. Some sections will require manual adjustment.
- Assembly. The strips are fastened to the base using concealed welding. Intersections are reinforced where necessary to ensure rigidity. The sphere is secured with a discreet metal mount.
- Finishing. Welded joints are cleaned, the strips are satin-finished, and the sphere is polished to a mirror shine. All edges are rounded.
- Inspection and Packaging. The structure is tested for stability, sharp edges, connection strength, and ease of holding with one hand. A rigid protective cradle is manufactured for transportation.
The primary production candidate is KRAFT-METAL.The reserve candidate is SFERRO Art Workshop.
