«53 States of Color”—a wall calendar where each week becomes a self-contained abstract composition. Throughout the year, the palettes, geometric form combinations, and visual rhythms shift. In this way, the familiar sequence of dates transforms into a continuous narrative of color states.

At the core of the project is experimental graphics characterized by expressive geometry, high-contrast color palettes, and a grainy texture reminiscent of print illustration. The color system evolves with the seasons: cool blues and purples give way to spring greens, followed by saturated summer combinations and deeper autumn palettes. Despite this evolution, each composition maintains its unique character while remaining part of a cohesive series.

The functional part of the calendar is built upon a consistent modular system maintained across all 53 rows. Each page features the month name, week number, a mini-calendar highlighting the current period, and seven large circular cells displaying dates. Contrastive, geometric typography complements the character of the illustrations, while the clear separation between the informational and graphic elements ensures user-friendliness.
The project is prepared for full-color, single-sided printing. The final layout was assembled in Adobe InDesign using automated substitution for calendar data and images.
