Historical Mysteries in a St. Petersburg Apartment
Artist’s apartment in St. Petersburg. Light, color, and air—these three pillars form the foundation upon which the designers built the apartment’s interior. Color inspires, delights, and creates a feeling of celebration every day. Light fills the entire space thanks to the enormous windows, which preserved the historical window framework. High ceilings lend the space a feeling of airiness.

The project incorporates historical motifs: a table with a drawer for «honors and presents» and a two-tiered windowsill—a quotation from Alexander Menshikov’s palace.

The delicate ornamentation on the furniture is reminiscent of the paintings from the Severnaya Dvina River region—the client’s homeland.

When necessary, the apartment easily transforms into a studio, art gallery, or workshop space.

The project won first place in the international Modern Home Award competition.
