Silent Cove

PROTECT STATUS: not protected

«Quiet Cove”—a wall-mounted jacquard tapestry featuring a stylized landscape. A blue ribbon of water separates a light green field from a pink shore; a small bird stands near dark foliage. Irregular outlines and sparse hatching convey the tranquil movement of the water and plants. The 123×142 cm format is designed for a small living room.

Concept

The project is rooted in observing a quiet shoreline: water curves around small islets, grasses grow in uneven clumps, and free spaces remain between them. In the tapestry, these details are gathered into a conceptual landscape. A small bird serves as a focal point, yet remains integrated into the environment.

Composition and Material

The almost empty upper field balances the dense group of plants in the lower left. A blue band of water connects the edges of the format. The pink shore and the light body of water on the right create two large color blocks. The contours are broken in places, allowing the drawing to retain softness when translated to fabric.

Light green, dusty rose, and slate blue combine with creamy and dark olive sections. The tapestry is designed for Jacquard weaving using cotton yarn. The image is formed by the interlacing of threads; the combination of four colored threads, black, and white creates intermediate shades.

Wall tapestry, 123 × 142 cm. Single image with no repeat. Hanger—cornice with mounting hardware.

Tapestry in Space

The tapestry is positioned on the wall next to the reading area. The suggested height for the bottom edge is 25 cm from the floor, and for the top edge is 167 cm. From a distance, the color fields and the curve of the water are visible; up close—the bird, the branches, individual strokes, and the weaving of the threads.

An overall view, details of the texture, and the interior are presented in visualizations.

Weaving Preparation

The composition is prepared in the official master file of the selected format. After the layout is approved, the image is converted into Jacquard weaves. The woven sample is evaluated for light tones, the bird’s outline, and the border of the pink coast. Then, the weaving, edge finishing, and suspension installation are performed.

The design, production mock-up, editable source file, and visualizations have been prepared. The next stage is the woven sample.
