Concept
The shirt here is almost indistinguishable from a classic one: black, austere, with buttons and cuffs. I was interested in what remains of this garment if only its volume and shape are preserved. The wide sleeve gathered at the cuff and the high collar line give the silhouette a heavy, enclosed feel—like a shell one could hide within. The blackness eliminates detail and leaves only folds. The fabric falls into deep shadows and reads like a sculptural surface. The shirt functions here as a backdrop for jewelry: massive silver rings and earrings, like found objects, contend with its simple texture, weight, and uneven metal.
