The Glow of the Deep—this is a visual continuation of my comic, which takes place at an underwater research station where the characters study fish, ranging from prehistoric denizochthyan inhabitants of the Devonian seas to dwellers of the abyssal depths.
The tapestry series brings to life the imagery that accompanies the characters during their immersions: silhouettes of skates, sharks, and fantastical sea dragons, emerging from the darkness like bursts of bioluminescence.
A deep black background and graphic, angular forms with a pearlescent white-blue glow create a contrast reminiscent of scenes viewed through a submarine viewport. Each creature seems to surface from the water’s depths, dissolving back into it, infusing the interior with a sense of oceanic silence, scale, and mystery.
