Work Title: «The Soul of St. Petersburg» Format: Single Shot / Street Portrait

This photograph was taken by chance, yet it has become one of the most precious pieces in my archive. While walking near the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, I noticed a charming woman selling handmade items on a bench. We struck up a conversation, and I learned that she possessed a wealth of teaching experience and had a truly fascinating life—she even worked with Khrushchev’s son! This year she is turning a remarkable ninety, but her eyes still shine with such sincere interest in life. In her hands, she holds hot tea and a fresh pastry. It was a moment I simply could not fail to capture.
For me, this photograph embodies the «soul of St. Petersburg.» It is not just a city; it is the people, their stories, and their ability to savor simple moments, regardless of age or circumstance.
The shot was published on my university’s official Telegram channel, which was a significant recognition for me.
