A ray with me
Shoper translates the image of a domestic AI pet onto an everyday item. On the milk-white fabric is a mint-colored character and the phrase «Luchik, who is always with you.» The bag can be taken to school, for a walk, or for small errands. The calm color palette continues the visual language of the main project, and the open form without excessive detail keeps the focus on the character.
Character Design
The print features a custom render by Luchik. His recognizable look comes from his soft silhouette, large screen-like face, and mint-colored details. The composition includes the character and a short phrase underneath him. The full-color image is prepared for DTF printing at a size of 18 × 24 cm.
For Everyday Life
The shopper can be carried by hand or over the shoulder. The open top allows for quick access to belongings, and the flat bag is easy to fold up after use. The design does not include lining, pockets, or hardware. We will test the shoulder fit and the convenience of the handles on the first sewn prototype.
Form and Seams
The body is assembled from two rectangular panels. The side and bottom seams have a 10 mm allowance; the top is folded over twice by 20 mm. The handles are made from fabric strips and secured with a diagonally reinforced square. The reverse side is left unprinted. This construction allows the bag to be made on standard sewing equipment.

Size and material
The finished bag dimensions are 38 × 42 cm. The material is 240 g/m² milky cotton canvas. The handle width is 3 cm, and the free arc length of each handle is 60 cm. The print area, measuring 18 × 24 cm, is centered, with its top edge positioned 8 cm below the top of the bag. For a single layout, 0.75 linear meters of 150 cm wide fabric are required; actual shrinkage should be confirmed based on the selected material.
Production
Pattern pieces for two parts have been prepared, complete with seam allowances, grainline indicators, and control marks. A layout and sewing sequence are also provided. The print is delivered in PNG, SVG, and PDF at actual size; the pattern pieces are supplied in 1:1 SVG and PDF, including a version for A4 printing. Before the production run, a sample must be made to check the color, image placement, handle, and seams, followed by agreement on care and transfer instructions.
Production and Budget
Potential manufacturer—"Ceph No. 8»: bag sewing, cotton canvas, and DTF printing; contact info@ceh-8.ru, +7 (962) 973-25-12. The website specifies a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces with an estimated turnaround time of 2–6 days. The timeline and cost for our design have not yet been finalized.The preliminary design budget ranges from ₽1,090 per item: from ₽590 for a similar ready-made bag based on the «Ceph No. 8» public price list, and from ₽500 for printing based on the «Pechatycha» price list. This figure is the sum of two public estimates, not a manufacturer’s quote. For 10 items, the total is ₽10,900; with a 20% reserve, this amounts to ₽2,180. The proposed grant request is ₽13,080, with an anticipated retail price of ₽1,990. Shipping and additional labor costs are to be confirmed; the cost for a single sample at this price has not been agreed upon.
Kit for making
The design includes the print, construction, patterns, technical drawings, materials list, and assembly instructions. Editable source files and production-ready PDFs have been prepared. The project displays three different angles rendered in Blender, as well as a technical drawing. The next step is to receive a quote from the manufacturer and review the first prototype before mass production.
