This material is a visual exploration of human vulnerability. The two-frame series is rooted in a philosophical idea: compared to the power of nature, humans are but grains of sand. The works «On the Edge of the Void» and «Freefall» investigate the state when habitual control over life weakens, leaving the individual face-to-face with something infinitely greater than themselves.
Task: To visually represent the concept of human insignificance before the power of nature and the fragility of the self through portrait photography.
What I did: I developed a photography concept and conducted a shoot against the backdrop of the Neva River.
