Concept
The digitally augmented reality of contemporary life compels individuals to question the very reliability of what they perceive as reality. At the intersection of familiar and recognizable imagery—playing children, automobiles—and artifacts of technological progress (such as chroma key palettes), a liminal zone emerges. Efforts to break free from this zone come not only from the characters in the images but also from their distorted doppelgangers—creations of the simulation environment itself.
