The exhibition, which explores clothing in all its forms, is increasing. From Alena Ahmadullina’s fancy dreams to the textile experiments «ARTEL Labs» and triennals in «Caritsino» — Moscow museums this fall turn to crafts, memory, art experiments and archives as the basis for modern talk about fashion and textiles.
Exhibition for the 25th anniversary of the Alena Akhmadullina brand
Place: State History Museum Data: As of 27 November, an exhibition on «Sleep of Alain» will be opened at the State History Museum, dedicated to the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Alena Akhmadullina fashion house. It’s the first big museum designer project. The exhibition will combine the brand’s landmark motives — large knitting elements, layers of silk and denim, leather cutting, embroidery, fur, and giant rations that are sent to models from different collections — and create space between sleep, fairy tales and modernity, presenting Alain Ahmaddulin not only as a designer of clothing, but also as an artist. The special feature of the exhibit is that all the models for it are being replicated to create, in the atmosphere of museum halls, a modern fairy tale, worthy and illustrated by Bilibine, and a red carpet.

Wearing what it was: fashion in Michael Bulgakov’s novels.
The site: Museum of Bulgakova Data:4 September — 11 November 2025 Exhibition at the Museum of Bulgakova explores Moscow’s 1920s-30s fashion from the perspective of «Master and Margarita». The curators, the fashion historian Asa Alajalov, and head of the Arbat Research and Education Centre, Elena Mikhaylov, refer to the descriptions of the clothing and light industry of the time: factories, model houses, new fabrics and primates. In the exhibition are photographs of Bulgakov and his acquaintances, magazines, welfare objects, clothing designs, antique suits, dresses, and accessories from private and museum foundations. The exhibition showed how clothing shaped the image of the city and the personality, was a symbol of taste and status. Fashion lovers will be interested not only in visual aesthetics, but also in the historical context of the creation and wearing of clothing in the early USSR.

From silk to perlamutre: the tradition of green fashion among the peoples of Russia
Place: Jewish Museum and Tolerance Centre Data: 10 September to 30 November Joint Project of the Russian Ethnographic Museum and the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Centre is devoted to the traditional crafts of the peoples of Russia in the creation of clothing and household objects from plant and animal materials, with emphasis on sustainable fashion and environmental sustainability. The exhibition is divided into three thematic clusters: plant-based materials (lene, cannabis, crumbling, etc.), animal-based materials (hair, fur, fish scales, etc.), as well as the impact of religious and cultural restrictions on textiles and clothing. The exhibition provides an opportunity to monitor how traditional materials and technologies (quality, embroidery, natural tissue) find their relevance today in green, «slow» fashion practices.
