PROMETHEUS —
a 925 sterling silver cuff bracelet, assembled from five enlarged parts of the Prometheus monumental typeface, which is based on Mary Shelley’s «Frankenstein.»
concept
The Prometheus typeface letter has been scaled to wrist size and segmented into five pieces; each piece is a cast plate. The typeface exists in two variations—Frankenstein Shov and Frankenstein Shov Razryad—and the cuff features both simultaneously: as you move it around the arm, you can see the letter «break» from the calm side to the torn one.
A reference to Jean-Paul Gaultier—in language, not in quotation: a visible construction rather than a hidden one, a seam as decoration, a pin instead of a zipper, the contrast of mirror, satin, and ink. The seam in the design is not a trace of repair, but a way to construct the body, like in Shelley’s novel.
visualization
Bezel assembly: centered is a bob with a blackened incision and amethyst; on the left is the main inscription, and on the right is «Circuitry.»

types and sizes
Cuff dimensions are 64,0 × 50.3 mm in cross-section, with a height of 46 mm at the top. Inside, there is an ellipse measuring 61 × 45 mm for a wrist circumference of 160–165 mm (Size M). General assembly, layout, and casting drawings are included in the production set (4 A3 sheets); the long-ride version includes fragments without production details.
how to wear
The cuff is put on from the side: open the pin under the wrist, remove the needle from the loops—and five pieces spread out on the stitches, like panels. Its shape is held by an ellipse on the arm and a fastening.
Material
The main metal is 925 sterling silver (Ag 92.5 / Cu 7.5): the finished piece weighs approximately 64 g, 60 g of which are cast components. The previous version weighed about 100 g; the weight reduction was achieved by using a 1.0 mm sheet with a 1.5 mm rolled edge instead of solid 1.5–2 mm sections and by selecting the reverse side of the bob.
Assembly
Five parts are removed from three molds: the right block and foot are the same castings as the left, only rotated 180°. All soldering occurs before the stone setting; afterward, the joints are only cold-welded or laser-welded.
on the wrist
The cuff covers the wrist almost entirely: the bob sits on the back, the blocks hug the arm on the sides, and the pin extends downward. The visualization was created on a plaster mannequin; the final shot of the long-form article is a photo of the finished piece or a cardboard prototype on a hand.
