The project is an application for fans of the Sex Pistols and punk culture that merges music history, creative expression, and community. Users can explore key events of the punk movement, create their own DIY-aesthetic posters, share their work, and find like-minded peers. The core idea is to transform the user from a passive listener into an active participant in the culture.
Problem and Solution
Problem: Music applications turn people into passive listeners. Spotify and Yandex Music provide tracks, and fan wikis provide lyrics. But punk is a culture of action, and there is no central place where one can simultaneously delve into the history, create something within that aesthetic, and find like-minded individuals. The punk scene is scattered across Telegram chats and public groups, making it difficult for a newcomer to find their footing.
Solution: A single application where history becomes a tool: read about Jamie Reid’s posters—immediately create your own; learn about a 1976 concert in Manchester (with about forty attendees, many of whom later formed their own bands)—and find the concert and people nearby.
