SYNOPSIS
The world is in its final days. The radiation levels are rising rapidly, governments are halting evacuations, and the «Ark» project is becoming humanity’s last hope.
Ophelia is working on a cryop capsule designed to preserve people after the catastrophe.
Ophelia’s friends suggest she spend her final days with them, but she refuses, feeling she has no right to spare time until the capsule is complete. Gradually, the laboratory empties; people leave, and Ophelia is left alone. On her last day, a moth accidentally flits into the lab. Ophelia catches it and watches as it batters against the glass, trying to escape toward the light. In that moment, she recognizes herself.
Ophelia releases the butterfly and steps out of the laboratory for the first time to face the approaching end. There, she is met by Marie and Theo. She finally allows herself to stop saving the world and simply be with those she loves.
