Concept
The installation consists of twelve foam blocks, each measuring 20×60×25 cm. In the exhibition, they form a fragment of a puzzle surface. The work is displayed on the floor. A faint image of the sky is projected onto the upper surfaces of the blocks. The material retains its inherent building nature: its porosity, chips, and uneven texture remain visible. Clouds arise from the foam block’s own color, causing the image to become nearly monochrome and blend with the base.
Social community is formed as a historical necessity for the existence of an individual. At the same time, encountering another person often becomes a traumatic experience because the other’s consciousness remains closed off. Social structure rests on the illusory confidence in the similarity of consciousnesses and a shared belief in certain ideals. In this project, the building material acts as an urban mass belonging to collective life. The sky becomes an image of an ideal order—the one humanity strives for. The gray color brings this image back to reality: any utopian concept crashes against the experience of shared survival, which nonetheless allows the small world of the individual to manifest.

Installation Description
The installation consists of 12 individual foam blocks, each measuring 20 × 60 × 25 cm. The overall dimensions in the exhibition space are approximately 20 × 180 × 125 cm. The work is displayed on the floor like a fragment of jigsaw tiling, with an image of the sky applied to the top surfaces of the blocks. The project was not realized.

Visualization of the first foam block
Each individual piece is a standard rectangular foam block / aerated concrete block, onto the top surface of which a faint image of the sky has been projected. The block retains its rough construction nature: pores, chips, unevenness, and the material’s texture are visible. The clouds are rendered in the color of the foam block itself. Because of this, the image becomes almost monochromatic and blends with the material.
Technique
Individual block size: 20 × 60 × 25 cm
Upper working surface: 60 × 25 cm.
Materials: Foam block / aerated concrete, sky image, acrylic pigment, primer, matte varnish.
Option 1—Print Transfer The image of the sky is printed in a muted grayish-blue palette and transferred onto the foam block surface using an acrylic transfer medium. After drying, the paper layer is partially removed, leaving the image embedded within the material’s texture. The surface is then lightly sanded and coated with a matte varnish.
Option 2—Pigment and Monochromatic Painting The image is created by hand using diluted pigment or acrylic paint. The blue color is subdued, and the clouds retain the natural color of the foam block. The surface is not completely covered; the texture, pores, and material unevenness remain visible.
