A space for things that are unnecessary to anyone but you
Almost every home has a corner where little paper memories are stored: photo booth strips, concert tickets, party bracelets, and other trinkets you simply don’t want to throw away. These items are worth almost nothing on their own, but each one holds a personal story.

We propose rethinking the conventional trash can and transforming it into a storage object for things usually considered disposable. The metal box becomes both a personal archive and a space for self-expression: memories accumulate inside, while photos, postcards, and notes can be displayed on the exterior using magnets, allowing for a constantly shifting composition.

Material
The box is constructed using AISI 430 ferritic stainless steel, 1 mm thick, with a satin-finished surface. The material offers high strength, corrosion resistance, and durability. Thanks to the steel’s magnetic properties, you can attach photographs, tickets, postcards, and other memorabilia to the box using removable magnets, allowing you to constantly change the display.
Production Technology
01. Laser Cutting
Parts for the casing, base, and lid are cut from 1 mm thick AISI 430 stainless steel sheets according to the technical drawings. Mounting holes and a slot for tickets are formed.
02. Metal Bending
Mounting flanges are formed on a press brake to join the components. This ensures geometric precision and clean joints.03. Surface Finishing
Edges are deburred and rounded, and burrs are removed. The metal undergoes satin finishing to create a uniform matte texture.
04. Assembly of the Structure
The chassis components are fastened together with metal screws. The visible hardware becomes an integral part of the product’s aesthetic.05. Installation of the Movable Lid
The lid is secured by two side hinges, which allow it to open and close. The smoothness of the mechanism’s operation must be checked.
