Column orders possess a wide variability of conceptual concentrations: cycles of rebirth (Egyptian lotus columns), unexpressed matter (the rough stones of the Doric order), balance, and human resemblance (caryatids and atlantes). At the foundation of the «Bobin column» design lies the Ionic order—a kind of averaged, transitional state in the search for form.
The bobbin (or thread spool) is an independent architectural model. It is a column that possesses a frame (the structural support) for some content—be it thread, cord, or film. The body of the column, the body of the bobbin, is the central element; without it, the capitals, volutes, and reliefs would be meaningless. The body of the column is a bridge between earth and heaven, a connecting link. Material is wound around this link, creating a robust system of harmony.

Egyptian, ancient Greek, and Gothic columns embodied distinct, independent, and sacral meanings.
«Monumental Ionic Composite Coil» is a coil created from «crafty» (magical, miraculous) materials for DIY projects—post-tectonic papier-mâché, foam, filler, and cement. It is no longer a load-bearing column; its body is stripped of its sanctity. Its composite nature lacks stability; it drifts in a disoriented manner and crumbles, and its main winding structure slides off toward the coil-capitals.
