1. Media Goal
«Mechanics in 3 Minutes"—an AI media tool designed for novice game designers that helps rapidly broaden professional visual literacy and source references for game mechanics. Instead of long videos and articles, users receive a concise analysis of a single mechanic: how it functions, why it is used, and what effect it creates.
2. Media Themes
Segment: beginner game designers, students, and junior professionals.
Niche Topic: game mechanics and systems in modern video games. The media focus is not on game news or reviews, but on concrete solutions: combat, movement, economy, world interaction, puzzles, and other game systems.
3. Competitors and Analysis

Game Maker’s Toolkit — a direct competitor. The channel focuses on analyzing the design and mechanics of video games, and it is aimed not only at game design students but also at beginner developers. Its strength lies in deep analysis and clear visual presentation. A weakness for our format is that the material is predominantly long and requires more viewing time.
XYZ Media — an indirect competitor. It publishes articles and videos about game development, including material on specific mechanics, AI, rewards, and other elements of game design. Its strength lies in its Russian-language content and broad thematic coverage. Furthermore, the media is not exclusively focused on game mechanics; it also writes about programming, 3D, professions, and other areas of game development.
GDC, Design Docs, and similar educational channels can be considered indirect and potential competitors: they also help developers improve their visual literacy and understand game design decisions, but they more often utilize the format of long lectures and video essays.
Competitor analysis revealed that most game design media either focus on deep, lengthy analyses or cover a broad spectrum of game development topics. However, there is a lack of formats where one can quickly find a specific reference for a single mechanic and immediately understand how it functions.
4. Distribution Channel
The primary distribution channel is Telegram. It is well-suited for short analyses of game mechanics: one post can combine text, images, GIFs, videos, and links to the game or supplementary material. Users can quickly view an analysis, save it, and return to it later.
5. Target Audience
The media audience consists of people who need to quickly find examples of game mechanics and understand how they function in practice. The primary segments differ based on the context in which this content is used.
