Concept
The tapestry was created as an experiment based on the metaphor of coordinates from Victor Melamed’s book, «The Diagonal Frog.»The core idea of the method is to view the art world as a multi-dimensional coordinate system, where the axes represent all possible aspects of an image: the complexity of the subject, the saturation of the color, or the grotesqueness of the characters.The concept involves analyzing favored artists, their methodologies, and incorporating those elements into one’s own illustration.
Technical Information
The illustration was converted to vector format for easier realization. More muted shades were also selected. Tapestry size: 204 × 146 cm. Technique: Jacquard weaving. Primary thread colors: yellow, red, blue, black, and white.
