From First Steps to Global Brands: What is the MASHTAB Conference?
On October 14th, the HSE Art and Design School will host a free online conference about design education and careers in creative industries.
Throughout the day, designers, creative directors, and industry professionals will share how one can actually build a career in design—from taking the first steps and finding one’s focus to working for international companies on projects for the world’s biggest brands.
Creative industries and professions are evolving rapidly: new technologies and tools are emerging, market demands are transforming, and with them, our understanding of what a contemporary designer must know is changing.
We have divided all presentations at MASHTABE into three main tracks: Education, Career, and Industry. We will discuss what and how one should study today, which skills will be relevant in the coming years, how to advance within one’s profession and reach a new level, and what is happening in design right now.
Professionals who have worked with Apple, Adidas, Yandex, and other major Russian and international companies will share their career journeys. Their stories will cover first steps, career decisions, mistakes, industry experience, and the projects that ultimately resulted from all of it.
The primary goal of MASHTAB is to provide direction and demonstrate what a designer’s career can realistically look like today.
