The «KOLOLIS» brand
«Hedgehogs were pricked, but they kept eating cacti”—a short film built around absurd situations, strange encounters, and the collision between humanity and environmental reality. The film’s visual language combines contrasting colors, raw image texture, color channel shifting, and deliberately overloaded composition. In this new project, these techniques are translated from the screen image into a physical object and a system of product branding.Original project: the short film „Hedgehogs were pricked, but they kept eating cacti.“Redesign goal: to develop the film’s visual language into an independent system for product design, packaging, and advertising materials.

The Domestic Object as a Cinematic Artifact
«COLLOCY» — a conceptual product design project that originated from a short film.
The starting point is the image of a hedgehog: an animal whose defensive function simultaneously renders it vulnerable and prickly. Within the scope of this project, this image transforms into a toothpick holder.
A familiar everyday object acquires a strange, almost personal form. Its function becomes an extension of the visual image: the toothpicks occupy the space of needles.
The project explores how the aesthetics of a film can exist beyond the screen—in the material, form, packaging, and daily use of an object.
The project’s principle: not to illustrate the film literally, but to translate its visual characteristics into another medium.

Prompts: (midjourney 8.2) Abstract experimental graphic texture, inspired by underground film posters, rough photocopy, analog film grain, dense black halftone dots, irregular red shapes, fine acid-green offset outlines, warm aged paper background, distressed screen-printing texture, chaotic yet balanced editorial composition, no words, no letters, no typography, flat graphic design, vertical poster background.
Create a logo and typography in this aesthetic style and color palette.
Generate a brand identity for «KOLOLIS» based on the visual language of the source film: contrast, visual noise, outline displacement, and the clash of vibrant colors against a neutral base. The graphic system is built around three principles: Contrast. Red and black form the main accents, acid green creates supplementary color shifts, and warm beige recalls paper and faded film. Distortion. Halftone, grain, uneven contours, and color channel displacement create a sense of unstable imagery. Functionality. The logo, markings, packaging, and promotional materials utilize common graphic elements while maintaining brand recognition.
A strange sculptural hedgehog toothpick holder placed on an ordinary worn kitchen table, a contrast between mundane domestic life and absurd collectible design. Dark matte ceramic body, irregular black spikes, understated unsettling character. Muted beige surroundings, harsh flash photography, analog grain, red and acid green color fringing, independent experimental cinema atmosphere, realistic product photograph, no text, no logos, portrait composition.
