The hood, as a complex structural object, explores the individual’s right to determine the boundaries of their own visibility and control how their body is perceived by others. At the core of the design is the idea of withdrawing visibility—in other words, a person should not offer their appearance up for scrutiny, judgment, or interpretation simply because they are in someone else’s sight.
