This series of objects mimics the appearance of jewelry—cameos. Historically, the oval gem cameo was created as a portable image of a human face carved into stone, which made it quite durable. A close-up of a specific face might feel like a triumph of individuality, but history has its own truth: cameos became part of popular culture and lost their sense of personalization.

Deconstructed cameos resemble chaotic impressions of melted wax. Hints of human silhouettes and leaf fragments, visible through the dissolving mass, lack identity. These are phantoms of a past erased by the impossibility of detailed archiving. Global history is unconcerned with individuality; it will fade with the movement of time. Yet, its impersonal image remains—a reminder of the unwillingness and the inability to remember everyone.
