«Sleeping Beauty»
The comic is based on Charles Perrault’s fairy tale «Sleeping Beauty,» which tells the story of a princess cursed by an evil fairy to eternal sleep after touching the tip of a spindle. However, the spell is broken by a kiss from the prince who rescues her. My goal was to to convey the fairytale atmosphere of the cult story, focusing on the color scheme of the illustrated project.«Sleeping Beauty»
The main challenges were:⟡ to be able to tell this story in a very condensed four-page spread format ⟡ create unique and suitable composition in order to make the right atmosphere and chronology
«Fauna of the Golden Ring»
A series of 12 postcard illustrations dedicated to the animal symbols of the cities of Russia’s Golden Ring.My main goal was to depict city symbols alongside other key regional symbols, such as local cuisine, crafts, or beliefs. A key architectural landmark in the city became a mandatory element in each illustration.
⟡ The main challenge in this work for me was the choice of compositional and visual solutions, as well as global research into the history of the cities of the Golden Ring of Russia in order to convey their flavor as fully as possible.
GES-2 House of Culture
GES-2 is one of Moscow’s most famous art spaces. However, until recently, it was a fully-fledged power plant. The long-form reading is devoted to the trend of industrial zones transforming into cultural centers, and it is explored through the history of the formation of GES-2.
My main goal in this project was to show the monumentality and enormous evolution of the creative altruistic idea of this cultural space.
