On October 20th, a lecture titled «The Poetry of Things: The Artist’s Theater» was held at the V. V. Mayakovsky Central Public Library in St. Petersburg. Alena Khodykova—a theater scholar, theatrical critic, correspondent for the Petersburg Theater Journal, author, and host of the Petersburg Theater Podcast—spoke about how objects, set designs, and performance space can become independent participants in a theatrical production.

The lecture focused on how literary material is transformed into stage form, the relationship between the actor and the object, and how director-artists create their own scenic worlds. In such a performance, the story is revealed not only through dialogue but also through the placement of objects, their interaction, and the overall visual composition.
