The Esmi project grew from my fascination with the character Esmeralda in Victor Hugo’s novel, «The Hunchback of Notre Dame.» By creating a typeface named after her, I aimed to convey her spirited and free-loving nature through the fluidity of dance lines, the sharpness of her words, and the rhythm of her movements. This idea was further developed into a piece of jewelry—a collar—where the plastic forms of the letters transform into a three-dimensional object.
