«Dr. Zivago» Director David Lin, UK/USA/Italy, 1965. In the roles of Omar Sharif, Julie Christy, Geraldine Chaplin, Rod Steiger and others.
The novel «Doctor Zivago» by Boris Pasternak was written for ten years, from 1945 to 1955, because it was impossible to publish it in the country in the summer of 1956, the author handed over the manuscript of the novel to Italy, where he was released in November 1957.

Pasternak wrote not just a novel about the revolution, but a respiration book where history breaks into private life, like the wind in an open window. Yuri Zivago’s doctor and poet is in the middle of a hurricane, but he’s not even trying to control it. He takes the blows of fate, loses his home, his family, his usual style, but retains the ability to see beauty in frozen glasses and to hear the music of time in the quadruple.

British director David Lin filmed «Dr. Zivago» after an offer by producer Carlo Ponty, who acquired the rights to film the novel. And he filmed the only person he could shoot who was in love with the Russian winter and was longing for an unrecoverable era (unsurprisingly, Lin has never been to Russia).
