Artfolk — a media community for artists that showcases the process, not just the result, allowing members to grow together rather than compete.
create and enjoy!
Media concept and objective
Creating media for artists who not only want to boost their skills but also find like-minded peers through participation in creative streams, competitions, and collaborations, reading interesting features, and building their own unique portfolio right now.
Subgoals:1. Make artists visible to other artists: «I got noticed by my peers!»2. Create a platform for dialogue through streams and discussion threads, through contests and collaborations—as an extension of the content.3. Elicit a desire for return in people by offering interesting and unconventional ideas.
media data sources
ArtFolk, as a media community for artists, works with three types of data: user-generated content (UGC), event data, and platform data.
UGC (primary source):— artist works: images (sketches, final versions, process documentation), written descriptions of «what was challenging, ” artist quotes — profiles: username, specialization (2D/3D/animation/illustration), links to external portfolios — contest and collaboration applications: work + narrative + consent for publicationchat and discussion thread messages: questions, answers, feedback
Event Data:— Schedule and Stream Recordings (Twitch): Topic, Guest, Duration, Recording/Highlight Link — Announcements and Reminders: Date, Publication Channel, Status (Announced/Concluded/Archived) — Competition Summaries: Participant List, Works, Quotes, Winner (if applicable)
Platform analytics (website + Telegram):— Engagement metrics: views, reactions, website traffic, chat participation. — Archive: publication dates, category association, seasonality (cycles such as «first step / mine / rhythm»).
Guidelines for Automated Services
UGC validation (application bot):— Required fields: work (image), nickname, quote «what was challenging» (minimum 1 sentence), publication consent (checkbox) — If a field is empty— the application is not accepted; the author receives an automated reply requesting completion. — Automated stop-word filter: insults, spam links, 18+ content (not permissible for the ArtFolk section) — Human review: Before publication, the editor checks all applications that have passed the automated filter—reading the quote and viewing the work.
Telegram auto-posting:— The bot posts only according to the approved template (title, structure, question at the end) — Prohibited: automatically inserting evaluative words («best, ” „masterpiece“), using more than one exclamation point, adding more than the limit of emojis (5 per post) — If the bot cannot find data for the mandatory block (e.g., the author’s quote) — the publication is delayed and sent to the editor for manual refinement
Chat Moderation (Auto-filter + Review Queue):— The bot removes messages containing explicit spam, insults, or links to malicious websites. — Messages flagged as «suspicious» (profanity, aggression, advertising) are not deleted immediately; instead, they are placed in a queue for review by a human moderator. — The ArtFolk principle: «This is not a competition”— the auto-filter does not delete critiques of work if they are requested by the author; only content that violates safety rules is deleted.
Metrics Collection and Archiving:— The bot collects statistics (views, reactions, clicks) and automatically attaches them to the post in the site archive. — Automatic archive preview generation: If an image fails to upload, the preview is not created, and the entry is flagged as «requires attention.» — Manual review: Once a week, a site curator verifies that all categories from the past week have been archived and that the artists' profiles have been updated.
Stream recordings:— The bot automatically creates an archive entry after the stream: date, topic, guest, Twitch highlights link, and Telegram announcement link. — If the recording is unavailable, the bot sets the status to «awaiting upload» and notifies the team. — The editor manually adds a brief description («what was on the stream») and tags.
General Principle:— Any automated action affecting content visibility (publishing, deleting, hiding) requires human confirmation, unless there is a clear security violation (spam, malicious links, 18+ content), in which case automatic removal is permissible with editor notification. — Automation logs are maintained to allow for the rollback of erroneous actions.
