Concept
Mirror in a decorative round frame with ornament based on the motifs of painting of peasant houses in Altai. The floral ornament is made up of traditional painting elements located on the radius of the mirror. The author used a solar composition with a clear rhythmic pattern — a typical technique of the folk tradition of art and craft. Based on the round shape of the mirror and frame, the author harmonises the elements of the ornament, making the shapes of the leaves smoother compared to the original. In the folkloric tradition Sun has many meanings and implications, as it occupies the centre of peasant life, closely connected with farming. The plant ornamentation in the solar composition refers to the idea of the Sun as the source of a rich harvest, and thus of well-being and prosperity. The mirror can be both tabletop and wall-mounted. The reverse side of the frame has a wall mount.
