Stepping out of Stalin’s office, Marshal Zhukov muttered to himself: «What a bearded goat!» Lavrentiy Beria heard this and immediately reported it to the leader. Stalin instantly called both men to his office and sternly asked Zhukov: «Whom did you call a bearded goat, Comrade Zhukov?» Zhukov, without faltering: «Hitler, Comrade Stalin!» Stalin slowly turned to Beria and narrowed his eyes: «And you, Comrade Beria, who did you think of?»
