Introduction and Project Concept
The VkusVill Office + Café project envisions merging a workspace and a city cafe within the Omega Plaza business center in Moscow. The central idea is to create a unified environment where work, dining, and relaxation support the brand’s philosophy: caring for the quality of daily life. The concept involves a shared and work area spanning approximately 350 square meters: the brand’s team office and a city cafe.
The VkusVill Brand Story
The brand’s history traces a path from a specialized dairy store to an ecosystem of everyday services. Key milestones are important for this project because they explain the transition from selling products to new formats of nutrition and service.
Beginning: «Izbyonka, ” 2009–2011
In 2009, the first „Izbyonka“ store opened in Moscow, primarily focusing on dairy products. The core of the format was clear ingredients, quality, and customer trust. Client requests gradually expanded the assortment, and by 2011, the chain had grown to approximately 80 stores.

The Rise of VkusVill, 2012–2016
VkusVill opened its first stores with a broader product assortment in 2012. Despite initial startup challenges, the brand developed by focusing on everyday food products. By 2015–2016, the network had grown significantly, and VkusVill established itself as a distinct and recognizable format.
Digital Services and New Formats, 2017–2020
During this period, the company developed online ordering, delivery, and digital services. Compact formats appeared, including micro-markets for office environments. This was a crucial stage for the concept: quality food became part of not only the home but also the workday.
Ecosystem and Cafes, 2021–2025
In the 2020s, VkusVill expanded delivery, ready-to-eat meals, and new service formats, including cafes and micro-markets. The company gradually evolved into an ecosystem that combines products and services around people’s daily needs.
VkusVill today offers new-format stores that include alcohol, a café, and a bakery.

History and Context of the Site: «Omega Plaza»
«Omega Plaza» Exterior View
«Omega Plaza» is located at 19 Leninskaya Sloboda, Moscow, near the Third Ring Road and just a few minutes' walk from the Avtozavodskaya metro station. The business center was developed in the late 2000s and reopened after renovation in 2009; some sources also list 2008 as the construction year. The complex’s commercial function and consistent employee traffic create the conditions for casual dining needs: breakfast, lunch, coffee, and takeout. For this project, convenient access, clear navigation, and fast service are essential.
The Spirit of the Times: How the Work Environment is Changing
The modern urban rhythm is changing the very definition of the office—it is no longer just a place for completing tasks, but an environment for concentration, interaction, and recovery. Work, dining, and leisure are increasingly perceived as parts of a single daily experience. For people, it is important to have the ability to choose the scenario of their stay, comfortable acoustics, natural light, and spots for a short break. Therefore, an office requires a balance between an open team area and spaces for focused work, while a cafe must support both quick orders and a quiet lunch.

Genius Loci: «Omega Plaza» and the Danilovsky District
The Danilovsky district merges the industrial heritage of the ZIL plant with the natural history of Tyufelova Grove. This context serves as the starting point for the VkusVill concept: minimalist geometry and functionality intersect with greenery, wood textures, and soft lighting. The project’s core idea is «Nature within the Urban Rhythm”—a space that unites office functionality, café hospitality, and human well-being.
