In the art project «The Weight of Status,» the dependence of human identity on social standing and the system of external recognition is explored.
The core question of the project is: what happens to a person when a social role that long defined their identity ceases to exist?Loss of status in the project is examined not only as a traumatic experience but also as a potential point of liberation.
The project is based on a real-life story: a former top executive, after losing his position, transitions into agriculture and creates an almost paradoxical gesture—he ties tomatoes with business ties.
The artistic statement’s objective is to demonstrate the anxious juxtaposition of two states and the tension that arises from addressing the central question—“Is the loss of status a tragedy or a liberation?»
