Little Stasia can’t tear herself away from her cartoons to listen to her grandmother and say goodbye to childhood. Then, a bird from her favorite cartoon carries her to a quiet forest where mysterious images and an encounter await her—an event she cannot possibly prepare for.
About the Project
The film explores the theme of childhood grief: how a child processes the loss of a parent and finds a way to cope with it. It is a story about accepting loss and the maturation that comes with it.

Locations
The action unfolds in two primary settings: an old apartment hall with post-Soviet decor, and a magical birch forest.
Musical Solution
The film has no dialogue; therefore, the original chamber music (piano, flute, strings, for example) carries much of the narrative weight—it guides the viewer from the noise of the apartment to the silence of the forest and back, conveying the heroine’s emotions from disorientation and fear to grief and acceptance.
