The traveler hesitates to leave the warm valley and step into the dark gorge, but the guide moves ahead, and the world behind fades away. Having crossed the boundary, the traveler transforms into a translucent caterpillar and ascends after the guiding butterfly. They bypass paralysis, stubbornness, and fear, finally reaching the summit where only one option remains—to jump.

Screen adaptation of Hesse’s fable on the inner journey. The guide does not pull the hero forward: every step is taken by the protagonist himself, overcoming fear and paralysis. The hero’s state is conveyed through color—from the sun-drenched tremor of the valley to the dense darkness of the gorge, and finally to the transparent blue of the summit.Logline: To return to the source, the traveler must leave the sunlit valley, pass through the gorge, and leap into eternity.Runtime: 3 minutesTechnique: mixed stop-motion animationFormat: 16:9, 12 frames per secondGenre: animated parableSound: voices, surreal sounds, and music

The traveler crossing the threshold turns into a translucent caterpillar. The color lives inside her: the warm yellow of the valley fades to gray when fear and paralysis seize the protagonist.
