TMF — music under open terms. Redesigning a music label

PROTECT STATUS: not protected

The project is taking part in the competition

TMF — the musical label of the future. The original project author is Artur Magomedov.

The project’s concept is transparent analytics and a direct dialogue between the artist and the label. The initial visual system is built upon a monogram, a black background, and a purple accent.

The objective of the redesign, utilizing AI, is to maintain a connection to the original identity while developing a cohesive concept for an independent label: product lines, packaging, merchandise, advertising materials, and a small physical space.

TMF — Music Under Open Terms

An independent label and listener club. TMF helps emerging musicians release their music: the artist receives clear terms and access to release statistics.

The product includes music releases, physical editions, and listener kits. The revenue hypothesis involves fee-based release promotion, product sales, and merchandise.

This is a student startup concept. All new goods, devices, and spaces are presented as proposed products.

New Identity

A single transparent wave connects music, openness, and all brand carriers. The violet color maintains a connection to the original concept, while the semi-transparent materials translate the idea of open relationships into a visual image.

The logo is a simple typographic rendering of TMF. Typography: Arial Bold / Regular.

Palette: Black #101014 — primary color Ivory #F3F0E8 — light background Violet #A997EF — signature color Lime #E8FF59 — small contrast accent

Image Creation Process

01 / Initial Project Analysis The source project screenshots established the themes of transparency, musical context, a black background, and purple color.

02 / Prompt System The general block fixed the color palette, semi-transparent material, and the sound wave motif. For each frame, the object, angle, composition, and lighting were varied.

03 / Generation Eight distinct text prompts were executed in OpenAI ImageGen: five key visuals, merchandise, interiors, and posters. The original screenshots were not uploaded to the generator.

04 / Selection and Assembly We verified the TMF lettering, the scene composition, and color palette consistency. After selection, source screenshot fragments were prepared, the presentation was laid out, and a visual review was conducted.

Tools and Models

Based on the process description in the materials: Codex / GPT-6 — material analysis, concept development, text generation, prompts, and build code. OpenAI ImageGen — generated eight images from text prompts; the exact tool model identifier and version were not disclosed.

Python + Pillow — used for cropping original screenshots and preparing JPEG copies for layout design. JavaScript + @oai/artifact-tool and Artifact Session — used for assembling, viewing, and exporting the editable presentation to PowerPoint.

Prompts / General Block

Each prompt = general block + description of a specific frame. Identical palette, material, and motif; different product and composition.

Use case: ads-marketing. Asset type: one landscape campaign key visual for TMF, a concept independent music label with transparent artist relationships. Premium experimental music art direction. Palette near black #101014, violet #A997EF, warm ivory #F3F0E8, acid yellow #E8FF59 as a small accent. Photoreal CGI, tactile materials, clean contemporary editorial composition, restrained soft light, no people, no watermark. Main visual motif: translucent violet acoustic ribbons shaped like sound waves. Landscape 3:2 composition, objects completely inside frame. Only brand lettering allowed is exact uppercase TMF in plain bold sans serif, no other text.

Precise Prompts / Key Visuals 01–02

01 / Vinyl
KV01: Hero product shot of a premium vinyl record release—a square black cardboard sleeve featuring large, simple ivory TMF lettering and a single sculptural translucent violet ribbon passing through the circular opening; a partially pulled-out translucent smoky vinyl. Set against a dark seamless background, three-quarter view, lit from the upper left. The product dominates the center and right, leaving generous dark negative space on the left. No collage.

02 / Cassette
KV02: A single translucent violet audio cassette with ivory TMF lettering, standing upright on an ivory stone pedestal, with a smoky ribbon of tape unwinding into an elegant sound wave. Ivory seamless background. Close editorial still life, exhibiting a sharp lateral shadow. The product is completely visible.

Precise Prompts / Key Visuals 03–04

03 / Headphones
KV03: A pair of sculptural, translucent violet over-ear headphones levitating above a matte black cube featuring small ivory TMF letters. One smooth violet acoustic wave loops around the headphones. Dark seamless studio, dramatic high-side lighting, front three-quarter composition.

04 / Acrylic Sleeve
KV04: A square music release sleeve standing vertically on an ivory gallery floor; the sleeve is made of frosted violet acrylic with plain black TMF letters, and a thin, acid yellow vinyl disk is partly emerging. A transparent violet sound ribbon floats in the background. Bright ivory cyclorama, precise natural shadows.

Precise Prompts / Audience Kit and Merch05 / Audience Kit
KV05: A luxury music fan starter kit—an open black rigid presentation box containing smoky translucent violet vinyl, a cassette, and an ivory folded insert featuring the plain TMF wordmark. A black sleeve with a violet wave print sits next to the box. Shot straight from above on a warm ivory surface, featuring an immaculate arrangement with no headphones and no other lettering.06 / Merch
Use case: product mockup. One campaign photograph showcasing exactly three merchandise items clearly separated: a black heavyweight hoodie folded with a plain ivory sans serif TMF chest print and violet wave detail, an ivory canvas tote bag featuring a large black TMF print and violet wave, and a violet baseball cap with small ivory TMF embroidery. Warm ivory background, soft realistic shadows, premium cotton textures, top-down editorial photography. All three objects must be completely visible, with no duplicate items. No other text.

Precise Prompts / Space and Posters07 / Studio-Shop
Use case: interior-mockup. One wide architectural photograph of the TMF concept music label studio and small record shop. Modern warm ivory room, acoustic panels, black listening desk with record player, display wall of violet record sleeves, small black merchandise rail, violet transparent sculptural sound wave above the listening area. Large plain black sans serif TMF sign on the back wall. Daylight, tactile concrete and wood, coherent functional space, eye level, no people, no other text.08 / Posters
Use case: ads-marketing. Landscape editorial photo showing two adjacent portrait advertising posters pasted on a dark concrete wall. Left poster ivory background, huge bold black TMF at the top and a sculptural translucent violet sound wave in the center, small exact black text OPEN SOUND at the bottom. Right poster violet background with large black vinyl disc graphic and large bold ivory TMF at the top and small exact text YOUR MUSIC at the bottom. Crisp legible lettering, precise professional Swiss typography, both posters fully visible, no people.
