SWALLOW — a modular organizer for designers and artists, inspired by Alex Colville’s painting, «One Swallow.»

Alex Colville, «One Swallow»
SWALLOW is a modular organizer base featuring a slot for a graphics tablet and three compartments for additional modules. By combining these elements, users can customize their workspace to suit their specific needs and preferences.

Structure
A basic organizer structure and a set of interchangeable modules have been developed, including two sizes of stationery cups, a tablet stylus stand, a phone holder, and small item containers. The cups feature a two-component design with internal inserts, allowing for the combination of external and internal surface colors. Furthermore, the internal elements can be used to divide larger cups into separate sections.

Production
3D printing was selected as the primary production technology, enabling the fabrication of complex-shaped parts with high precision and minimizing material waste. Matte PLA plastics in two colors—eSUN ePLA Matte Matcha Green and Bambu Lab PLA Matte—were used to create the organizer.
The light fixture prototype was created in the School of Design laboratory using 3D printing.

Packaging
For packaging, a cardboard box approximately sized 260 × 180 × 150 mm can be used. It should be sized to accommodate a base that is 230 mm long and modules placed in the stand, accounting for their height without the leg.
To secure the components and protect them from damage during shipping, biodegradable cornstarch filler can be used.
Source Files
The project includes a package of STL files for manufacturing all parts of the organizer, as well as an editable file in Blend format.
Tuition
When manufacturing the organizer using 3D printing, the estimated cost per item is 1,800–2,500 ₽, accounting for filament usage for supports and potential defects.
The minimum technical run is one unit; however, for economic viability, we recommend producing a small series of at least five units.
