Characters
ProtagonistA blind man who lives alone. In his daily life, he is accustomed to relying on his hearing, spatial memory, and sense of smell. Occasionally, his neighbor’s partner helps him with some daily tasks. Despite having a fairly limited social circle, the man has established a routine and learned how to navigate his familiar environment. His encounter with an unforeseen situation disrupts his established ways and forces him to use his senses to understand what is happening and save himself.
NeighborA man who lives next door to the protagonist. He leads his own life, and his relationship with the protagonist does not imply close friendship. Beneath his outwardly unremarkable demeanor lies a dangerous side, and he becomes a threat to the protagonist.
RoommateA woman who lives with the protagonist’s neighbor. She helps the blind man by maintaining a kind relationship with him.
Sound
Sound plays a key role in establishing atmosphere and conveying the protagonist’s perception. Instead of conventional voiceover for dialogue, we plan to use 8-bit sound signals to create an abstract, stylized way of representing speech.Special attention will be paid to environmental sounds: footsteps, rustling, moving objects, and spatial noises. These will serve as crucial orientation points for the character and the viewer, helping to reconstruct events through sound. An original soundtrack, created in collaboration with a musician, will amplify the tension and the atmosphere of uncertainty.
