Lampshade kit made from mineral resources merchandise for the environmental project «Arctic Sun.»
The project focuses on the profound changes occurring in the Arctic environment due to global warming and industrialization.
The lamp features a modular design and is composed of «mineral» pieces that can be assembled and disassembled in any order. These pieces allow for various lamp configurations. There are two required components: the bottom and the top. The bottom piece serves as the base and supports the structure, while the top piece completes the composition and holds the light bulb socket. All other pieces are optional. They can be added, removed, or rearranged to control the height, shape, and aesthetic of the lamp.
It is envisioned as a decorative table or floor lamp.
Materials
The details are made from PLA, a translucent bioplastic. It allows some light to pass through, so the surface glows softly throughout the form.

Interior
The fixture construction utilizes standard electrical components: — One warm white LED module, rated at 3–5 W each, with a color temperature of 2700–3000 K; — A 12V power supply unit, with an estimated capacity of 15–20 W; — Two-conductor low-voltage wire for internal wiring; — A 220V power cord with a plug; — A cord switch; — Compact terminal connectors for connecting the LED modules; — Heat shrink tubing and insulating elements.
Production
Printed on a 3D printer using translucent PLA plastic.
The lamp prototype was fabricated in the School’s laboratory using 3D printing.

Additive manufacturing allows for the production of an object even in minimal runs (1 unit).The optimal run size is 5–10 units.The estimated cost per light fixture for a batch of 5 units is 3,000–6,000 ₽. The cost depends on the number of components in the assembly.
