Somnia is a repository for collecting and preserving dreams that have faded from memory or were never shared. We offer users a way to anonymously share images from their dreams, transforming them into a collective map of the human subconscious. The project aims to explore the nature of dreaming and create a unique archive where every forgotten dream finds a second life.
Metaphor
The central metaphor of the project is that a forgotten dream is not a cohesive image, but merely several surviving fragments. Like a jigsaw puzzle missing half its pieces, or an image dissolving into individual pixels of memory. The archival exhibits convey this ephemerality: snippets of phrases, strange geometric shapes, blurred silhouettes. Each element serves as a reminder that the human subconscious erases the superfluous, leaving behind only a strange, inexplicable trace.
