CONCEPT
IDEA
Solis interprets the weather forecast, translating meteorological conditions into light. Rain streaks down the layers, snow sparkles, lightning flashes, and at night, the glow deepens and softens.
VISUAL
At the center is a matte sphere, resembling the sun. Nine glass plates surround it, mirroring cloud layers. The weather dictates how many layers illuminate and what color they emit.
WHY?
To sense the outdoors without needing to approach a window—to know in the morning if an umbrella is necessary, or to observe the changing sky in the evening without being distracted from your tasks.

HOW DOES THE WEATHER BECOME LIGHT?
01/ Open-Meteo API: cloudiness, rain, snow, weather code, temperature, and is_day: the weather filter activates at night.
02/ Layer masks and the weather palette generate 9 colors plus the color of the sun.
03/ It receives 9 RGB channels via Art-Net over Wi-Fi.
04/ Each of the 9 layers and the sun sphere emits its own light.
