Concept
Last year, my friend and I arranged a small photoshoot to explore the relationship between the human body and clothing. We were curious to contemplate how garments gradually become part of our identity, accumulate around us, and seem to begin absorbing their owner. Clothing functions simultaneously as protection and as a trap: it allows one to hide, yet at the same time it conceals the body, alters its shape, and gradually erodes the boundary between human and material.

To create the tapestry, I selected a photograph where this fusion is most vividly apparent: the human figure almost dissolves into the texture of the fabric, making it difficult to define where the body ends and the clothing begins. I wanted to amplify this effect by utilizing the inherent properties of the tapestry itself. Because of the interweaving of the threads, the image loses sharpness, becomes slightly blurred, and the contours of the figure seem to dissolve. Thus, the tapestry technique helps to underscore the core concept of the project.
