This year, like always, the festival offered an open theme for animated film ideas, so I realized a concept for an ultra-short animation depicting evolution, tailored to the festival.

A festival and platform for ultra-short animated films.
The idea of showing the entire process of evolution in just 5 seconds was achieved through morphing—that is, the smooth transformation of one shape into another.
In frame-by-frame animation, it was crucial to meticulously plan all the inbetweens (intermediate frames) so that the form truly «transformed» into the new shape. Simultaneously, the goal was to make the animation as lively as possible, which the festival’s set runtime allowed for.
The final version of the film was scored with a percussive melody—the music underscored the film’s accelerated tempo.
