About the Project
LUMEN — a first-person atmospheric puzzle game set in an abandoned 1970s film studio. The player explores empty sound stages, film archives, and technical rooms, utilizing a malfunctioning Polaroid capable of generating only a flash accompanied by various physical effects. For this project, I developed the complete sound design and musical score. Game Developers: Anna Kalmykova, Maria Dolgopolova, Mariana Gamazkova, Viktoria Shugulyova

Gameplay Recording
Sound Design
As part of the project, a complete set of in-game sounds was created: sounds for the Polaroid mechanism and all flash modes, reactions from interactive puzzle objects, character sounds, interface sounds, and ambient environment sounds. For each location, different ambiances and spatial sounds of the old building were designed, including creaks, footsteps, falling objects, film movement, and other unsettling events. Ghosts were also voiced—their patrolling, attacks, death, and special in-game actions related to enemy influence on puzzle states.

Music
Five musical compositions were composed for the project. The musical score begins with a nostalgic and melancholic sound, gradually transitioning to more intense, atmospheric textures as the player moves through the film studio locations.
