In today’s rapidly evolving and urbanizing world, the issue of preserving cultural and historical heritage remains unresolved. In Ryazan, as in many other Russian cities, most of the historical buildings have been lost—demolished or burned. Today, only the ruins of Ryazan’s former wooden culture remain.
Concept
Create a series of works that reflect the city’s challenges through the lens of its architectural memory—specifically, wooden architecture and the blight of modern buildings. The goal is to showcase the contrast between the beauty of the wooden houses and the soulless high-rises that now occupy the sites of the city’s former architectural heritage.
